As part of the enhancement of the green areas along the river that runs north of the city of Lucca, a redevelopment of the Parco dell’Infinito was inaugurated, completed with the installation of play equipment and anti-trauma flooring.

On the western edge of the park, a new playground has been created, equipped with circular shapes, ecological materials, elementary colours and wooden games to make children’s activities stimulating and well integrated into the park’s green system.

The focus of this new area is the paving, which features a labyrinth inspired by the famous design in the atrium of the cathedral of Lucca.

The anti-trauma paving consists of a stabilized sub-base, a 45 mm thick layer of recycled polyethylene foam slabs, and a 25 mm high finish of colored artificial turf specifically for ornamental use.

The four colored circles contain four playgrounds made of handcrafted black locust wood, which boasts a natural resistance to atmospheric agents, guaranteeing a long life span, and blends in harmoniously with its surroundings.

In addition to the play area, the Parco dell’Infinito in Lucca boasts a network of footpaths winding along the Serchio River, accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

The intervention included the construction of a new stabilized earth pathway, which not only integrates with the general project to remake the road system of the Parco dell’Infinito area, but also makes the play area completely accessible.
