The Skyfitness project realized in the Erbusco consists of the redevelopment of a formerly private area later converted into a public park.

With the aim of promoting sport among its citizens, the public administration decided to offer an outdoor fitness area completely free of charge to its citizens.

Geom. Monia Omboni, who supervised the realization, explains the motivations as follows: “Our commitment to free outdoor sport is a fundamental pillar of our administration. In the future, we will continue to develop and enrich these areas with additional recreational and commercial activities to make them even more attractive. We are convinced that investing in accessible and well-equipped green spaces not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also contributes to the collective well-being and quality of life in our city“.

In order to achieve this, it was necessary to plan an ad hoc project that took into account the most suitable arrangement of the equipment so as to guarantee accessibility and safety for the end user. The external walkway was a natural consequence: it guarantees people with motor disabilities easy access to the inclusive equipment, breaking down a major obstacle in the park, that of the turf.

The equipment runs along the inner perimeter of the path, thus protecting independent access in all ground conditions.

The installation of each piece of equipment was carried out by anchoring it on a reinforced concrete slab and covering it with green cast rubber as an anti-trauma surface.

The last step was to place a welcome panel at the entrance of the area with an indication of all the 8 pieces of equipment present and references to the Skyfitness web app that allows training calibrated to one’s training target and available time.

According to Dr. Omboni’s statement, the area “just four months after its inauguration is enjoying an excellent turnout and a positive response from our community,’ facilitating the primary objective of offering citizens a free and safe place to dedicate themselves to their health.
